TINNITUS

 Sufferers of this condition hear unexplained noises such as buzzing, ringing, roaring, whistling, or hissing. It can be in one or both ears. Tinnitus can be a symptom of almost any disorder of, or around, the ear. It may be caused by low-grade infections, anemia, trauma to the head, obstructions such as earwax, Eustachian tube obstruction, allergies, hardening of the acoustic arteries, tumors, toxicity from chemicals such as carbon monoxide, heavy metal poisoning, many drug reactions, and alcohol.
