MASSAGE

This is not a condition as much as it is a preferred treatment. It is a truly wonderful remedy for easing life's aches and pains. In addition, massage helps revive the flesh and motivates the circulation. It increases the production and release of the body's natural healing chemical called oxytocin.

Massage is one of the oldest and most widely practiced health-preserving therapies known. (See the section on Bathing .) Part of its benefit is the mechanical effect of "rubbing" and "kneading" tennsions from the body. Many times we are not aware of these tensions until we are actually being massaged. Often, we can massage certain muscles on our own bodies. However, the greatest benefit is generally received when a trained pair of gentle hands does it. There are several different techniques, each having certain advantages in specific situations. Massage is especially recommended for those who are bedridden or who are unable to exercise. Well-muscled people can usually withstand more vigorous techniques, while those with less muscle will be comfortable with more gentle techniques. Modern massage therapists are trained in multiple techniques to meet our level of need and comfort.
    * Start by taking a hot bath with 1 to 2 oz of Renew Bath Oil for 20 to 30 minutes. Light a few Sun Valley Candles and put on some soft soothing music. Relax. Feel the smoothness of your skin. The person receiving the massage must be in a comfortable position, usually face down. The person giving the massage must not feel hurried or  uncomfortable when bending at the waist. Apply ample amounts of warmed Moisturizing Hand Creme to one extremity, neck, upper back, or lower back area at a time. Rub Pain-A-Trate into tender muscles and over stiff or painful joints. A few drops of T36-C5 can be massaged into areas that feel cold and need better circulation. Massage the limbs toward the heart area, not away from the center of the body. When done gently, you can do no harm.
