GASTRIC ULCERS
Stress, aspirin, or spinal nerve irritation, as well as a poor diet, can lead to ulcers by stimulating the Vagus nerve, which controls production of stomach hydrochloric acid. Some scientists insist that the taking of antacids, while giving temporary relief from stomach acid, in the long run actually elevates production of stomach acid. Statistics show that while antacids are being taken at ever-Increasing frequency, ulcers continue to be one of the most frequently treated conditions. Starting as indigestion and stomach pain, this condition can lead to referred back pain, anemia, and fatigue if uncorrected. Our high-stress lifestyle appears to be the most contributing factor.
* For people who have had ulcers for several years, lifestyle should be closely evaluated. The flavonoids in ProVex and ProVex-Plus help heal ulcers by reducing histamine secretion and by binding to and protecting connective tissue in mucous membranes of the stomach, so take as directed. Drink 2 to 4 cups of Melaleuca Herbal Tea each day. Begin an exercise program. Practice relaxation breaks for 20 minutes each day. For acute attacks, drink one cup of Melaleuca Herbal Tea every hour. Eat one half of a FiberWise bar every two hours between meals. FiberWise drink and bars are excellent ways to increase dietary fiber. Eat cole slaw or have boiled cabbage every four hours (compound U in cabbage stops production of stomach acid). Avoid alcohol, caffeine, smoking, and rich or fatty foods, as these stimulate the production of stomach acid.
